Classes
45 minute classes
Little Talkers: 6-24 months
PRE-K PREP: 18-30 months
Little Talkers and Pre-K Prep classes are led by certified and licensed speech-language pathologists. Each class is 45 minutes in length and is packed with engaging and interactive activities, as well as parent/caregiver tips to facilitate language and speech production. Classes incorporate the use of songs, sign language, literacy activities, sensory play, gross motor activities, and play-based routines to foster child and parent/caregiver engagement and learning over the course of our semester.
Participants benefit from the repetition week to week and families report substantial growth after attending our weekly class consistently.
During Little Talkers classes, the following skills are targeted:

Building shared attention and connection

Listening and following simple directions

Learning through movement, music, and imitation

Practicing turn-taking, social skills, and play
-
Encouraging more words and early speech sounds

Using everyday words with gestures and simple signs
-
Growing longer phrases and sentences (early grammar)
During Pre-K Prep classes, the following skills are targeted:

Growing language-rich vocabulary through stories and play
-
Speaking in 2-5 word sentences
-
Turn-taking and socialization with peers
-
Hands-on and engaging activities
-
Use of motor and sensory play
-
Prep for circle time (i.e. weather, feelings, days of the week)

Early phonemic awareness skills needed for reading

Practicing speech sounds in developmental sequence

Following directions
